1. Why do you use a chip card reader instead of a magnetic stripe card reader?

   Malaysia was the first country in Asia to mandate EMV chip infrastructure to address counterfeit fraud by the Central Bank of Malaysia back in 2004, and now EMV is a global standard for credit and debit payment cards based on chip card technology.
   
   Therefore our platform is fully chip based to be compliant with Central Bank's regulation and aligned with EMVCo's vision and direction.
   
   Chip based cards are not only more secure than traditional magnetic stripe cards, it also stores a considerably lot more information than magnetic strip cards in a very secure manner.

2. What is EMV?

   EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard and VISA, a global standard for inter-operation of integrated circuit cards (IC cards or "chip cards") and IC card capable point of sale (POS) terminals and automated teller machines (ATMs), for authenticating credit and debit card transactions.

3. What makes your platform different from others?

   Soft Space's platform is fully EMVCo Level 1 and Level 2 certified - which means our platform is recognized and accredited worldwide according to EMV standards.
   
   Security is not compromised, thus giving the users a peace of mind while using our platform.

5. What mobile platforms do you support?

   Our chip card reader is made for the iPhone and iPad, but it can also be used on the iPod touch. We will also make it friendly for Android and Windows Phone as well.

6. How do you charge?

   Our rates may vary depending on local Bank charges, country of operation and the nature of your business.
   
   However, we are giving out the point-of-sales (POS) application system and the chip card reader to every user that signs up with us for free. There are no sign up costs and no monthly commitments.

1. How secure is your platform?

   Our chip card readers and platform are fully EMV approved and compliant with PCI-DSS regulations. No sensitive data is ever stored on the mobile device, and all data traffic is encrypted.

2. What happens if my chip card reader is lost or stolen?

   If your chip card reader falls in to the possession of a non-authorized user, they will not be able to perform any transactions with our payment platform.
   
   That is because each chip card reader comes with a unique serial number that is specifically linked to your account and will only work with your device that has been granted access and permission through the application.
   
   We also ensure that the individuals' card details are not stored on the device or the chip card reader at all times. All data traffic is encrypted as well.

   Here are some of the highlights:
   
   

   • Our chip card reader and payment platform is fully approved and certified by Europay, MasterCard and VISA (EMV) for Level 1 and Level 2; at the same time adhering to the global "Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard" (PCI-DSS) for handling card data.
   
   
   • The chip card data is encrypted in the card reader, and is never stored in the device.
   
   
   • Sensitive data is encrypted using state of the art cryptographic algorithms.
