Taishin Bank Upgrades its Taishin Merchant App
to Launch Discover Tap on Mobile Solution,

Kuala Lumpur, November 2, 2022 – Taishin Bank has partnered with Discover Financial Services (“Discover”), an international payment services company and Soft Space, the world’s leading SoftPOS player, to upgrade its Taishin Merchant App, to support Discover® Tap on Mobile. The partnership seeks to benefit from the convenience of contactless payments along with meeting the demands of merchants accepting Discover® Global Network Cards which include Discover® Card, Diners Club International® and its network affiliated cards, while providing cardholders a seamless contactless payment experience in Taiwan.

According to Taishin Bank’s Senior Vice President of Payment Service Division, Louisa Su, merchants can utilise low-cost, simple, and secure payment technology to swiftly accept payments. The Taishin Merchant App allows merchants to use their existing Android devices such as smartphones and tablets to directly accept contactless payments from their customers. These merchant segments include taxis, local tours, direct sales, mobile stalls, utility repairing, VIP on-site services and other mobile industries, restaurants for pay-at-table services, as well as medium and large-sized chain stores.

In addition, as international borders will be opened in the future, Discover cardholders around the globe will be able to experience paying with Discover Tap on Mobile solution via the Taishin Merchant App.

The enablement of Discover Tap on Mobile in Taishin Merchant App is powered by Soft Space, the world’s leading SoftPOS player, allowing Taishin Bank and its implementation of Discover Tap on Mobile payment acceptance solution to provide future-proof payment technology to the diverse payment market while facilitating the booming development of contactless payments.
