KUALA LUMPUR/HONG KONG, 6 July 2023 – Soft Space Sdn. Bhd. (“Soft Space”), the world’s leader in providing fintech as a service (Faas) was announced the winner at the Asia Smart App Awards (ASA) 2022/2023 for the Best Business & Commercial App category in Hong Kong recently. The award was given for their submission of their marquee product, Fasstap™, a software-based Point of Sale (SoftPOS) technology that enables any smart devices with Near-Field Communication (NFC) capabilities to accept payments without the need for bulky and expensive payment-grade terminals.  

At the same event, Soft Space also bagged the Merit Award for the same category for their FassPOS app which has been deployed in airlines to improve in-flight retail with inventory management and payment acceptance in all major currencies which enhances overall customer service.

The Hong Kong WTIA organised its 9th edition of the Asia Smart App Awards (ASA) 2022/2023 with the funding support from Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. This year around, the event reunited 16 co-organisers from several countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore to further encourage the development of the expanding smart application industry.

In recent news, Soft Space made headlines by closing its Series B1 funding and raising USD 31.5 million in investment. It has also become the world’s most complete SoftPOS provider supporting all major operating systems – Android, HarmonyOS and iOS after powering Tyro, Australia’s largest electronic fund transfer Point of Sale (eftpos) provider to accept card payments with Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhones.
